The ‘Right’ of Passage – the Journey back to Self

We start out on our life journey expressing ourselves freely. We just are, without question or expectation.

Over time our experiences and interactions create belief systems that change our perception of our self and our world. When we’re young we believe the things we’re told or witness about how we should be; that information is imprinted on our subconscious and with it the experiences we enjoy or endure reinforce those beliefs.

As perception is stronger than reality what we perceive to be true becomes our reality, validating the belief system buried beneath the layers. This is why we see people attracting similar experiences over and over, demonstrated in abusive relationships when a person leaves only to experience abuse again in the next relationship.

I’ve met people who’ve adapted and modified their version of self so much treaching-out-to-myselfhey see a stranger in the mirror. When asked “Who are you”? they can’t answer. They can tell me all the negative things about themselves, but not the positives.

I demonstrated this loss of self when I ‘became’ the role I was playing in my work life. I had a demanding role developing international trade relationships where diplomacy and tact, adapting to other people’s expectations were paramount. This was reflected in my personal life at the time too. I played the part so well I didn’t know the difference between the façade and my authentic self. I went from being confident and assertive to tip-toeing around every conversation, afraid to offend. This continued for years and with it this vague sense of longing. It took a serious spinal injury to force me out of my role.

Through my enforced ‘rest’ and rehabilitation I had to look inside myself. I discovered painting as a way to express myself and my first works were large explosions of colour that in retrospect symbolise breaking up the shell I’d built around myself. Once that shell was broken, there was no turning back. I began to get a sense of what I wanted, who I really was. My immobility provided insight into the experiences of others. I could no longer see meaning in my former work and when the time was right I was led to my next step to influence policy and program changes for disadvantaged people and then on to work in an agency that provided support for torture and trauma victims. Each step was a journey leading back to my authentic self and life purpose. I found my passion through my own life crisis and interaction with other people and communities in crisis.

That was just the beginning because as my healing journey advanced and more life and relationship challenges presented I discovered layers of emotions, memories and beliefs buried deep in my psyche. I was forced again and again to dig deep into my past to find connections, triggers that continued to recreate situations in my current life experiences reflecting the negative conditioning of the past. People came into my life bringing lessons and as I learnt more about myself I uncovered further layers of belief I’d built up over the years. Being human nature to resist change, the unfoldment of each layer took work, time and the courage to risk losing the security of the life I knew and the people in it. We may not like where we are, but we’re comfortable there and afraid of what might happen if…

When I stopped to ask, “Why am I reacting like this?” “What does this remind me of?” I found a pattern running through seemingly unconnected situations. I’d be taken back to what on the surface was some unrelated incident long forgotten in my conscious memory. Writing all the times in my life when I’d had a similar situation or felt like that helped. As I identified recurring themes and named the emotional climate surrounding them, like grief or fear, a pattern would emerge of where my self-beliefs originated. I’d built beliefs that when ‘x’ happens, then bad things happen. Why? Simply because it had happened once – to someone else – when I was young and had remained in my subconscious as a belief reinforced by the fact that I’d recreated it over and over through various situations and relationship interactions until I ‘got’ it, until I was more uncomfortable being in that situation than with the fear of change.

We lose our authentic self by becoming what we think others want us to be, we believe what we’re told, we self-recriminate, won’t forgive ourselves for our mistakes, reinforcing what we already believe to be true about ourselves. We play it safe in relationships, presenting a version of our self we believe to be acceptable, lovable, worthy and valuable because we believe it will minimise our risk of being hurt. Fear becomes our guide when buried deep within us is love, openness, freedom and joy waiting to be expressed, creating a world of infinite possibility.

We find wholeness when we take the journey back to self, recognising we’re a divine spirit living in a physical body, here to experience life and learn who we really are; to express that self without fear of judgement or recrimination, ready to attract unconditional love and acceptance. The ‘right’ of passage is getting to the belief that you have the right to BE yourself, HAVE the life you wish for, that you are worthy and lovable exactly as you are.

Do you know the difference between trust and faith?

How to get the outcome you wish for…

When you’re facing challenges and you’re required to call on your faith, it’s not always easy to believe that things willbarron falls sm get better, nor to keep your focus on the outcome you desire. For years now I’ve been hearing from my guides that I need to trust. At times it’s easier than others –depending on the emotions involved.

Recently I received a message that explained the importance of trusting and keeping the faith. It might help you if you struggle sometimes with faith. This is what I was told.

Trust is the process of letting go – it is surrendering control of the outcome and simply releasing to a higher power. Faith is holding on to the belief that what you desire is possible after you have entrusted that it will be. Trust is a short-term choice and faith is a longer-term moment by moment holding-on to that belief. You require both in order to manifest the dreams you are creating. So day by day you must keep the faith and not allow doubt to creep into your consciousness and day by day you must take small steps yourself to aid the process of creating your dreams whilst you hold onto the belief that they will be manifested into reality.

It will take discipline and conscious choice. If you can do this the possibilities are infinite.

Make no mistake – whether you take action against what you wish or simply fail to take any action towards what you wish the outcome will be the same. So in each moment you must make a conscious choice to keep your focus on the outcome you desire and do not allow yourself the luxury of doubt. This is where your test of faith and strength comes in – if you do not trust and you lack faith it is the same again as moving the energy in the opposite direction in which you wish to go as the universe will interpret this as a wish. That because when you do not believe this can be then it cannot be because by your lack of faith you believe and are creating the opposite of what you actually wish for.

Of course, we cannot interfere with free will so if what you wish involves another person’s life and free will then you must only focus on yourself and your wishes for yourself. For example, if there is someone who is creating chaos or drama in your life, your focus must be on a peaceful life for yourself and allow the other person to pursue their own journey. When you change your own inner self, everything around you changes.

Highly successful people believe in all the possibilities. They “keep their eye on the prize” no matter what, even when they face challenges. They believe in themselves and they see setbacks as a learning opportunity, a chance to try again and do it better next time. If you look to the truly inspiring sportsmen and women you’ll see this played out over and over again as they come back from serious injury.

stairs smIf you struggle with trust and faith it might help to ask for small signs to help you each day – to remind you to keep your focus positive and step by step, day by day, in the right time and circumstances, your situation will be resolved for your highest good. It may not happen exactly when you expect or in the way you expect, in fact things might turn out so much better than you could have ever imagined when you hand over to a higher power.

Miracles can happen! When we believe…

About Isis

Osiris and Isis in the Temple of Seti I at Abydos

Isis and Osiris in the Temple of Seti I at Abydos

Isis was a goddess in Ancient Egyptian religious beliefs, whose worship spread throughout the Greco-Roman world. Her name literally means Queen of the Throne. Isis is the feminine archetype for creation; she is the goddess of fertility and motherhood, described as “she who gives birth to heaven and earth, knows the orphan, knows the widow, seeks justice for the poor, and shelter for the weak”. Isis has gone by many names such as Demeter, Astarte, and Aphrodite and is said to have played many roles in history and mythology as goddess and female creator during the period between around 3100 BC until sometime during the 6th Century AD.

She was worshipped as the ideal mother, wife, the matron of nature and magic. She was the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans, the downtrodden, who also listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats and rulers. Isis worship was concerned with the acquisition of knowledge since knowledge could only be attained from the gifts of the gods.

The Temple of Isis – origin of the Egyptian Emotional Clearing Technique

Temple of Isis

The Temple of Isis

The Egyptian Emotional Clearing Technique is founded in an ancient aromatic ritual described on the walls of the Temple of Isis in Egypt. The modality uses Young Living 100% pure therapeutic grade essential oils produced by founder of Young Living D Gary Young, a Dr of Naturopathy. Whilst studying and living in Egypt Gary Young was privileged to be invited to visit the Temple of Isis. This Temple is generally locked and closed to visitors.

During his visit in the locked temple Dr Young observed glyphs describing the process for “cleansing the flesh and blood”. It was an initiation, rite of passage, over a period of three days and nights for pharaohs, high priests and priestesses and those in high office in preparation for transition to the next phase or the afterlife. It involved

“This wasn’t some kind of esoteric religious ceremony but rather a three-day ritual to cleanse the body of mental and emotional illnesses which they regarded as evil deities. The process used by the Egyptians involved the use of essential oils. These were applied to the person, with two other people being present to support the individual.” Stone tubs on the roof of the Temple were filled with water and essential oils where the person receiving the ritual would be submerged at the commencement and at the end of the ritual, and over the course of the three days the person would lie on a stone table to be anointed with a combination of essential oils. ” The ancient Egyptians believed that if they didn’t clear the body and mind of negative influences (negative emotions) they could not progress into the next life” (Wellbeing Magazine )

For the Egyptians life continued after death –  death was only a temporary interruption or pause to life and preparation for the afterlife became a lifelong priority. To ensure that the dead had a comfortable afterlife, various funerary practices, procedures and rituals were carried out, such as mummification and reverence to the gods. As part of their sacred rituals they would perform a cleansing ritual to release these negative emotions to ensure a smooth transition through the underworld to the paradise that was the afterlife (for more visit The Australian Museum)

Gary Young recalled “While visiting the Temple of Isis on the Isle of Philae, I found on the walls the hieroglyphics of the three-day ritual they called ‘the cleansing of the flesh and the blood.’ This ritual depicted the use of essential oils for the release of emotional trauma. With the help of the Egyptologists at Cairo University, we worked to translate and learn about the oils. I have done much research to determine how these oils were used…”   – D. Gary Young, N.D.

The glyphs translated at the Museum of Cairo inspired Gary Young to create the deeply nurturing Egyptian Emotional Clearing Technique for the modern world, bringing a new and profound way of transforming emotions. (Fortunately in the modern world we perform the treatment on a comfortable deeply cushioned massage table in one day.)

Does it have to be this hard?

Quan YinThis post by Jenny Schiltz discusses how we can change our perception of how life is and how it should be and in so doing, change our life. It’s a channelled message from the Ascended Master Quan Yin and provides some insight into how many of us are feeling at the moment.

For example, looking around you and judging others, perhaps envying others what they have without realising that the very reason we judge that person is that we secretly want what they have, whether it be the freedom to express themselves in the way they want, to have unconditional love and support, to be able to feel deeply and show it without fear of recrimination. It’s something that’s been surfacing recently in my client work and I have even noticed it in some ways myself and I ask why. Whatever is bringing up feelings for you at the moment, take a moment to analyse what is really going on and ask yourself “Why am I judging?”, “Why am I limiting myself?”, “Why can’t I have what they have?” Because the answer is you can – when you can your perception, when you raise your energy and your expectations to the level of positive anticipation. But be prepared for change when you do this – and it might be fast in the current “quickening energy”. There’s an air of urgency in what we do now, a subtle push from within to live as our authentic self and to fulfil our mission here on earth.

Check out this message, it’s very insightful, and then take a moment to think about it in terms of your own life. Reclaim Your Sovereignty

Navigating the New Energies – Our Life Review

20160624_16524220160517_134854 (2)This is our chance, our time to review our lives to this point and to decide if we want to continue as is or to make changes.

My partner and I opened a Gallery a few months ago. We opened it with the intention of having work/life balance, enjoying our life in the new town whilst making a reasonable income to support us and a part-time employee, and allowing me time for my client work and my partner time to create the handcrafted timber pieces for the Gallery – each of us is passionate about what we do and we received very positive feedback from many visitors to the Gallery.

However recently we reviewed our progress to date and realised that we in fact did not have work/life balance, we weren’t particularly enjoying our life and were feeling pressured to do the things we love to do instead of enjoying our work – my time to concentrate on my work was suffering too – and whilst we love our new town and the community in which we live we found ourselves struggling to have the time to put into our relationships with the people in our neighbourhood and with those closest to us. So following that review we decided to close the Gallery which will happen in the next few days.

And guess what, so many new doors are opening for us since we made the decision to close the Gallery! We will have a choice of outlets for his goods, the support of the business community around us has been wonderful and so as one door closes another opens. We are looking forward to quality time to enjoy working in our passions and to spend with the special people in our lives, including each other.

This post by Jenny Schiltz from her Channelling the Masters Channelling the Masters website is very timely as it helps to explain very clearly and succinctly what many of us are experiencing right now. Are  you struggling to stay balanced? Feel like old issues are coming up again? Or do you feel like you need to be of service? Do you need to make changes in your life?

Jenny explains “Emotionally, many are experiencing what feels like a life review. Things are coming up within our memories and even in the physical so that we can reconcile and release the past. It feels very much like we are all making the choice of do I want to continue as I have always done or do I want to release and walk into the new. Some are even finding that people from their past are contacting them again or that another person who holds the same type of energy as a person in the past have come forward. For instance, you may encounter someone who has the energy of a past romantic partner so that you can decide if you want this energy in your life going forward.  When you see it this way, the patterning that we hold becomes clearer and it allows us to see how much we have changed in this process.

What I am also seeing is the resurgence of our stuff. Things we thought we had under control. Things we thought had changed or that we had overcome.”

“Things will be different, but better”…

This message was first channelled in March 2011, but I believe it is timely to re-publish it now given the chaos, destruction and fear we are seeing in the world around us in very recent times.

Channelled Message from Archangel Gabriel

Dearest souls

These are testing times. There is much fear and uncertainty. Everything is changing. The energy is shifting and this brings chaos. The foundations of the old structures are crumbling to make way for the new. The balance of power is being restored to the many rather than the few. Financial systems have already begun to collapse and the wealth will be redistributed. The time of one-ness is coming. The chaos brings people together as one, reaching out to each other in times of need. There is a great swell of love and compassion sweeping across your world.

There is more destruction to come, this is necessary for the shift to take place. Out of the destruction will come bliss, a new level of humanity, creation of new ways, a better world.

This is a time of great fear, but you must transmute the fear into love. Pure unconditional love, compassion and understanding will assist the transition to the new energies, the higher vibrations where people will sense their one-ness with all creations, with all of life.

Try not to be afraid, this lowers the energetic vibrations. Each thought, each word, each action sends out a ripple of energy through the universe. Try to keep your thoughts positive and speak and act in love.

Many ask “what can I do?” You can do this, even when you do not have money to give and cannot help in any other way, you can send love and healing energy to those who have been directly impacted by the calamities that are the fallout of the shift.

Do not fear, all will be well in the end. Things will be different, but better.

Remember to ask and be willing to receive assistance and guidance from those around you now who are with you to help. They are your guardian angels and your guides.

All is well, all is exactly as it should be right now for the highest good of all. Trust that this is so and look to the light for guidance. All is well, you are love and loved. All are love and loved. All are one…

Leaving old relationships behind and preparing for new…

‘When somebody is deserving of our heart we need to be able to give the very best of ourselves…’ (Mathew Williams).

These two links are from The Good Men Project website – on healing and understanding our hurt when a relationship ends – and preparing ourselves for new love, restoring our faith in human nature and the possibility of something better than before, better than we could ever have imagined – we take with us the experiences of the past, we gain a stronger sense of self and self-respect and we take another brave foot forward, a leap of faith to start again. These articles from the Good Men Project are especially for men but equally pertinent to women.

The power of positive thought – a simple reminder

Sometimes even those of us who’ve been walking the spiritual path and navigating the sometimes perilous journey of life for a long time need to be reminded of the basics. Having started a new venture with my partner, a Gallery to showcase his beautiful handcrafted timberwork,  with all the challenges and risks that entails and at a time when we had just moved house and there were plumbing and electrical and a myriad of other issues springing up to ‘surprise us’, it was all too easy to get tired and begin to lose the faith when things didn’t seem to be going according to plan.

Unexpected expenses, delays, obstacles and so on. Too tired to even think straight, I’m sure everyone has experienced these little hurdles in life. And of course, you spin into a downwards spiral. You lose faith, you begin to doubt, you’re too tired to bother and then of course your negative energy creates more of the same.

The most basic of principles, like attracts like – the law of attraction. Until someone kindly reminds you of that which you have known for so long – to surrender to the flow and to trust and have faith – and to keep your thoughts positive and focussed on what it is you most wish to manifest. And of course! You make that choice in that moment and you begin to actively think positive, you do something positive for yourself, you let go of the need to control and voila! Wonderful things begin to happen – and so your energy raises and it becomes even easier to stay positive – and guess what? Even more positive things begin to happen!

serenityIt’s really not always easy, but when you make the choice and begin to move step by step into a more positive direction the energy will support you. So take it easy on yourself, surrender, relax and go with the flow and trust that things will get better.
